Bruna Baroncini
My personal history is written in the land, in the vinery and in the wines of my farms.
They have followed my path, which is between past, present and future and goes from san Gimignano to Castelnuovo Berardenga, from Montepulciano to Montalcino and, eventually, to Magliano, in Toscana.

The origins lie at San Gimignano, at the Torre Terza estate: hills covered with vineyards which welcome the visitors who are going to San Gimignano on the old road.

At Siena the last output, Casuccio Tarletti, one of my father’s dreams come true: producing Chianti Classico in one of the fittest areas, Castelnuovo Berardenga. Beyond Siena, following one of the most beautiful roads of Tuscany, rolling through the famous Crete Senesi (Siena clay hills), among the hills of Lake Trasimeno, my adventure with the Faggeto estate at Montepulciano begins. It is a place where you can enjoy breathtaking views of vineyards, of woodland landscapes and unforgettable dawns.

Going upper, where the landscape gets rawer, at Montalcino, my dream has come true: producing Brunello at Poggio Il Castellare on one of the most valuable lands of the area, Castelnuovo dell’Abate.

We then go down, towards the Maremma, till we arrive at Magliano in Toscana, Querciagrossa Farm, where wine is pure pleasure. Here, in the shadow of two age-old oaks surrounded by vineyards you can spot the sea in the distance. This is my journey, through the different expressions of the main Tuscan grape variety: the Sangiovese. I have got two families in my life: the first one is the real one, made of affects, bounds and relationships; the second is the one of my farms and of my wines: a big core I have been taking care of, I have seen growing up and which can still get bigger. I feel I am citizen of my own vineyards: it is shown by what I have realized among vines and vine rows. My estates have grown up and I have carried on in the world of wine and in my farms all those friendships, relationships that you develop in your family, at home, in the streets and in any other else environment.

I have made the choice to work in silence and steadily, waiting patiently and trustingly the course of the events before showing to the public my “jewels”. So far I have walked on a risky and peculiar path: I have made choices which have brought me from my estates to the market. My encounter with Laurent Depiot has been fundamental for me: with him we have developed the idea for a new French-Italian wine. Thanks to him I have rediscovered the essentiality in winemaking. But the interest, the curiosity, the desire to give new experiences a try – gifts I inherited from my father – lured me out of Tuscany and stretched my path till Georgia, at the foot of Caucasus. In the land where we think the vine was born and where I have just come back to my origins.
This is my history…
